WRAPPING UP THE SCHOOL YEAR

IN THIS ISSUE: Count Down to Summer
Kick Off Summer Reading
Happy Mother's Day

Catherine Holecko [+PROFILE('FIRSTNAME','Parent','PropCap')+]

In a sure sign of spring, I was recently approached by a PTA mom asking me to run for a position on next year's board. That school year — my first as the mother of a grade schooler — flew by in a flash! As we come to the bittersweet final weeks, our family plans to make time to celebrate with some special activities and really take stock of the amazing progress our kindergartner has made.

And of course, when May 11 rolls around, I hope to be enjoying a special Mother's Day complete with some homemade treasures and maybe some special stories too. We can use them to kick off a whole summer's worth of reading fun.

Does your family have a special way to mark the end of the school year? Talk about it on our message boards, or email me at Catherine@scholastic.com.

Happy Mother's Day!
