Besides practicing trombone and playing in the Quad City Tennis Club, Michal likes to spend his spare time folding origami and playing video games on his Gameboy.
Attending school in Iowa, Michal has always been exposed to politics. Each election year, Iowa holds the first presidential caucus to decide which candidates the state’s residents will choose to run for President.
Although Michal plans to be a scientist when he’s older, he has a journalist's curiosity. "I want to learn what is important to the candidates running for office," he says of his experience with Scholastic News Online.
Michal is in the fifth grade at his school in Iowa, which he attends with his two sisters, Emilia and Andrea, and his brother, Jozef.
