Colton is in the fifth grade at his school in Iowa, where he is a member of the school band.

Colton told Scholastic News Online that he is interested in finding out more information about each presidential candidate’s goals and how they are trying to implement them. He hopes his experience as a Scholastic Kid Reporter will teach him even more about the major players in the 2008 election.

Being in Iowa, Colton has a good chance of doing just that! Iowa is the first state to hold a caucus during each election year. As a result, candidates spend lots of time in the state, and Iowa has more media attention than any other state during presidential elections.

When he grows up, Colton plans to be a computer engineer. He has one brother and two sisters.
