$8 million
Cost of privately financed football stadium and athletic complex project for Lafayette Jefferson High School in Indiana. The 6,000-seat stadium opened in 2004.

$3 million
Budget shortfall created by the rejection of a property tax override in June in Stoneham, Massachusetts. The town’s school committee was forced to cut the entire high school sports program as a result.
